 The position fell vacant following the departure of Falcon Sedimo at the end of September. Serufho took over as the caretaker CEO for a period of three months.

According to information reaching Mmegi Sport, Staffwise HR Consulting Company has been tasked with conducting interviews. The process began with oral interviews on Monday.

Some of the candidates who were interviewed include Steve Bothasitse, BNSC ex-director, sport development, former Botswana Premier League (BPL) CEO, Styles Ntshinogang and Serufho.

BNSC chairperson, Marumo Morule referred Mmegi Sport to BNSC human resources director, Agnes Gaetsewe for comment. However, Gaetsewe could not be reached for comment at press time.

The BNSC is on the lookout for a candidate who would drive the development of sport policies and objectives and initiates innovative and dynamic policies and objectives to enhance sporting capabilities in Botswana, according to the job requirements.

The CEO is expected to develop a regionalisation strategy for sport growth in Botswana and work with National Sport Associations to adopt a regional approach to sport organisation and management, amongst others.

“The incumbent would ensure the implementation of policies and management strategies which would optimise the participation of sport people in appropriate competitions and implement systematic talent management strategies to enhance competiveness,” reads the advert for the post.
