Khan crowned 'Little Miss Princess of the World Bots'

Khan beat competition from 19 other contestants in what was a tough call for the judges. Khan would now go on to represent Botswana in Bulgaria next year where she will face 85 other contestants from various countries. Another 14-year old Wedu Sebina became the first princess while Lekana Baipoledi, 10 was the second princess.
In a pageant that was mostly attended by the youth, the 20 contestants began the first parade in an attire of black shorts and white vests.
Then every contestant was given a chance to showcase his or her skill and talent in singing, dancing or poetry. The talented contestants blessed the stage with a skillful performance in Polka, traditional dance, Setswana poetry and dancing.
The talent competition gave Khan a chance to begin her quest for the title and she sang a beautiful song.
The wonderful performance saw her winning the special award of Miss Talent. The first Princess, Wedu, took the award for Miss Congeniality while Lekana won the Miss Young Princess title. The third princess, Reneilwe Sabuku, won Miss Popularity while the fourth princess Pamela Setune won Miss Model title. Khan also won her second title of Miss Teen Princess.
After the third parade of formal wear, the 20 girls narrowed down to 10. The top 10 finalists were given a chance to make it to the top 5 where they were asked to reveal a place in Botswana where they would take a foreign visitor.
The outstanding young girls made it to the top 5 and they were asked if Botswana was ready to have a female President. Four of them said yes while the youngest of them all Baipoledi said otherwise. Then arrived the moment everyone was waiting for and after a lot of suspense Khan was named as the first-ever Little Miss Princess of the World Botswana 2015.
In an interview after the pageant, Khan said her mother motivated her to join the beauty pageant.
“I won this title because of her and I am where I am as a result of her support,” she said. Khan said the crown meant that she has to proudly represent Botswana overseas.
“I did not need anyone’s endorsement. I am beautiful and that’s the way I am,” she said. Khan said the pageant was her first-ever beauty contest and she would now prepare more ahead of the big stage next year.
The pageant organiser, Tebogo Lebanna, said the pageant was an international competition where she had to use the international pageant brand.
“When I come up with a pageant like this in Botswana I have to use their little Miss Princess of the world name,” she said. Lebanna, who is also the organiser of Little Miss Universe Botswana, was confident the pageant would grow even bigger next year.
