Hollywood trio touches hearts

The trio arrived in the country on Thursday afternoon for the one-week long Arts and Entertainment Expo which is formally starting today at Molapo Piazza and Maitisong Theatre.

On Friday, the trio spent the day facilitating a community outreach dance workshop where they worked with young children from Stepping Stones International and SOS Children’s Villages.

They interacted and taught them different dance routines that resulted in the young children coming up with flash mob dance routine that they showcased at Molapo Piazza on Friday evening. The flash mob attracted a number of people who gathered to watch.

Still on social related issues, the trio facilitated a women’s workshop that was attended by young and middle aged women. Banks led the workshop and gave motivational talks with some extracted from her latest book, The 30 Day Journey To Loving The Woman In Me.

The platform was meant to build self-confidence within women. Throughout the programme, women interacted and shared experiences.

Banks said their presence will bring a difference to the local arts and the entertainment industry as they are willing to share their Hollywood experiences.

“We will train upcoming artists on how they can benefit and get opportunities from their art talent.

We want everyone to have an opportunity that will change their atmosphere and also encourage young children in their community”.

She further revealed she came with two of her friends Evans and Baker so they impart more knowledge and experience.

Evans will focus on acting and film skills while Banks and Baker will focus more on dance. She stated that throughout the workshops they will also teach participants the administrative side of the art and entertainment businesses.

The workshops have been arranged in sessions for different age groups and fields such as children, youth and professionals. On the last two days, there will be an open panel discussion for artists.
