This year's brigade graduation in S/Phikwe

The guest speaker is the founding Vice Chancellor of the Botswana International University of Science and Technology, Professor Kweku Bentil, while the Assistant Minister of Education, Keletso Rakhudu, will also address the graduates.

Speaking to Mmegi, the Chairman of the Publicity Committee, Gosekwang Setibi, said the graduates are from Botswana College of Engineering and Technology, Barolong Vocational School, Francistown College of Technical and Vocational Education, Gaborone Technical College, Jwaneng Technical College, Kang Development Trust, Maun Brigade Development Trust, Maun Technical College, Naledi Brigade Development Trust, Nswazwi Brigade Development Trust, Palapye Technical College, Ramatea Vocational School, Selebi-Phikwe Technical College, Serowe Brigade Development Trust, Tlokweng Rural Development Trust, Tswaragano Brigade Development Trust and Tswelelopele Brigade Development Trust.

Setibi explained that there will be an award for Best Botswana Technical Education Programme (BTEP) graduates who will receive Scottish Qualification Awards. 'The students are Philadelphia Tau from Botswana College of Engineering and Technology who was doing ICT, Michael Shawn from Gaborone Technical College who was doing building construction, Rethabile Moloi of Jwaneng Technical College who was doing ICT, Moses Kamogelo of Maun Technical College who was doing EME, Kesegofetse Keamogetse of Palapye Technical College who was doing business and Abueng Mosime of Selebi-Phikwe Technical College who was also doing business,' she said.

The courses that students are graduating from are the National Craft Certificate (NCC), BTEP, ABMA, NCS, and CABS, all these courses at certificate level.

Setibi said certificates will be presented by different stakeholders, namely, the Director of Madirelong Training and Testing Centre (MTTC), a BCL Mine representative, a QAA representative, a Tertiary Education Council (TEC) representative and a representative from the Botswana Training Authority (BOTA).

Approximately 1 500 students are graduating. The annual event was hosted by Gaborone Technical College last year.
