Regional organisers would be elected in their respective districts to complete the BOPSSA national committee.

Guest speaker, Galenyatsege Tyson Bathuseng who is BMC livestock procurement manager said he is aware of the strides BOPSSA has made at home and abroad.  He said this was evident after BOPSSA was voted the best group at the last Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) awards.

He said BOPSSA should measure their potential by the height of their aspiration not allowing it to be limited by the despair of failure. “I believe teamwork in adversity, dignity and generosity in victory is crucial in sport and the games should provide discipline, team work, sacrifice, sportsmanship and loosing graciously. BOPSSA president, Segweni said the new committee is expected to drive the association’s strategic plan.

He told the incoming committee that running BOPSSA comes with a huge challenge such as imprest, transport and even playing grounds. He said BOPSSA will play its role in social responsibility after they identified a needy family.

He said the disadvantaged family has nine children, and six of them are still going to school with the youngest being two years of age.

Segweni said the children live alone with lack of parental care and stay in a one-roomed house with poor infrastructure and no toilet in the yard. “We have managed to construct a three-roomed house with the help of donations from different stakeholders around the second city, which will be handed over very soon,” he added.
