Bright signed a one-year deal last week, replacing Rapelang Tsatsilebe who left the club by mutual consent last week following alleged differences over the handling of some affairs.

The club has refused to shed light on the reasons why Tsatsilebe was let go just months after renewing his contract.

Tsatsilebe was quoted in the media recently saying he was unaware of reasons of his dismissal.

Now Bright has been roped in and given the task of taking the team to greater heights.  “Based on the resources we have availed to him, we believe that a top eight finish is very realistic,” said Sua Flamingoes chairperson, Tirelo Thebe.

Thebe said one of Bright’s main tasks would be building development structures at all levels in Sua Pan and surrounding villages.

“We believe that he has the right credentials to lead the initiative. He will work hand in hand with coaches in the region to launch development structures that would feed the club with players. In the near future our intention is to mainly rely on our development to feed players instead of buying in order to manage our operating expenses.”

He added that Bright is expected to give the club a final list of players he intends to sign for the upcoming season.

Amongst the players who will reportedly be signed is goalkeeper, Mwampule Masule who has been training with the club for some weeks.

Meanwhile, Mmegi Sport has established that Phillimon Makwengwe was the preferred candidate.

Makwengwe has a history of working with the youth and administrating development structures in the country from his days as a technical officer at BFA.

He was seen as the perfect person to handle the club’s youth structures. However, sources at the club indicated that Makwengwe was relatively expensive than Bright. Thebe said he couldn’t comment on reports that Makwengwe was their preferred choice.

“All I can say is that Makwengwe was interviewed along with Bright and our assistant coach.

Both Makwengwe and Bright have very strong coaching credentials, but we settled for the latter based on various factors which I cannot disclose,” Thebe said.
