Moroccan club yet to pay Rollers

The club unveiled the duo alongside Zebras teammate, Kabelo Seakanyeng this week after agreeing to three-year deals. The players will reportedly pocket around P120,000 per month, in a deal brokered by Zebras coach, Adel Amrouche.
Seakanyeng joins the club as free agent after leaving Maltese First Division side Lija Athletic in June. Mathumo and Orebonye were still under contract with Popa. Mathumo rejoined Popa in July 2019 on a two-year deal after a six-month stint with South African side, Free State Stars.
The central defender has a year left on his contract. Orebonye on the other hand, had a year left on his three-year contract and Rollers is expected to benefit handsomely from the transfer. However, Rollers president Jagdish Shah said the club has not yet received payment from the sale.
He said it was a mutual agreement between the two clubs that both players leave for Morocco with the football season in the North African country kicking off this weekend.
Shah further said since personal terms had been agreed, the two clubs were still to meet to negotiate the transfer fees.
“We allowed the boys to go there, I understand they have agreed to three-year deals with the club. They both had a running contract with us, but moneywise we are yet to benefit from the transfer. We had not sat down with the club and what will happen now is that the club will contact us and negotiate a fee,” he said.
“With the COVID-19 and everything around, we heard the club’s plea to allow the boys to go there whilst they still can. I have the contacts of the players and they were still our players, which means Rollers, in some way have to benefit. At the moment there is nothing and we will start negotiations very soon.”
The trio could fail to make their debuts this evening due to work permits as Olympique Club de Khourigba take on Olympique Dcheïra in the Botola 2 opener.
The club is based in the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region of Morocco, which is the interior of the country. The team was relegated from the elite league last season and would hope for a quick return.
