Ball players: Troopers and Dolphins meet in a three series final

The finals will be played in a three game series at the BNYC indoor courts. Both coaches have dominated the local basketball in recent seasons.

“Nyangu is a tricky guy coach though we have worked together at the national team, there is always some of his tricks that he will die with so I’m looking  forward to the game,” Dolphins coach, Moyo said about his former assistant coach.

On the other hand, Nyangu said he knows Moyo well and has much respect for him as coach but would look to beat him in the finals.

Dolphins come into the game oozing with confidence; they have won two of their three games against their opponents. However, Troopers coach Nyangu said he was unfazed by the previous results. “It is a different ball game, preparations have been going on well we are just trying to iron out our game play,” he said. “We made fundamental errors that’s why they beat us in the past games. It is just a matter of playing to our best. We are coming into this game with no pressure at all,” said Nyangu.

Nyangu singled out shooting guard Thebe Morwakgole and diminutive forward Emmauel Ramoshebi as the game winners. “All players are equal, but whenever I have these two in the court we play much better on their side. We are not playing individuals but we are playing a team, so we will plan for the whole team not individuals,” he said. Moyo told Mmegi Sport that he is worried about playing a wounded lion and they will treat the game with respect. “We have beaten them twice and that makes them more dangerous now. We will be playing a wounded lion. We will not let the fact that we beat them go to our heads. They are former champions and are an experienced team, so we will treat them with the respect they deserve,” he said.

Moyo also revealed that two of his players are carrying injuries but hopes they will be available for section. “We have two minor injuries, and affected players have not been training. We are trying to save them for the game, hopefully they will be okay. So far, the preparations have been going on well.

I will be introducing one of my youngsters, and he just completed his form five. I want to give him a taste of basketball at the highest level in the country.”
