Clap N� Tap festival billed for Botlhale

The festival under the theme ‘Taking Clap N’ Tap To The People’ will feature five Clap N’ Tap gospel groups being Baineetseng Ho Jehovah Gospel Choir (Gaborone), Babiditsweng Ke Lentswe Gospel Choir (Gaborone), Setlhoa Sa Tumelo Gospel Choir (Selebi Phikwe), Mochudi Spiritual Choir B (Mochudi), and Lemohang Jehova Gospel Choir (Kanye). CCBA Chairperson, Tiisetso Masasa said Clap N’ Tap music lovers should expect exhilarating performances from participating groups at this year’s festival.
Masasa said they are expecting the Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture, Thapelo Olopeng, and Member of Parliament for Gaborone North, Haskins Nkaigwa, to grace the event.
He further said, Corporate Interaction Communication Consultancy, owned by Jacob Sesinyi, has pledged to shoot a video of the festival for free. He explained that proceeds from the video would go a long way in helping the association raise funds for participating groups.
He urged the public to attend in large numbers to be a part of the DVD shoot.
The association uses the festival as a way of reaching out to the youth to choose the right path. Masasa in previous interviews said youth participating as either choir members or attending festivals has the potential to discourage them from engaging in destructive behaviour.
He said their music is loaded with motivational messages, which can encourage positive behavioural change amongst the young.
Masasa also said youth who attend the festival would be inspired and motivated by the positive messages in their songs.
