DJ Oats resurfaces with Ndini

Ndini is an offering from DJ Oats’ sophomore album House University Year 2, which will be officially released in December.
Ndini is a Shona verb similar to ‘It’s Me’ in English.
Vocalist Bernadette M Mutangara, who featured on DJ Oats previous hit, Ngoma Yorira is also on the new song as she pours out her soulful Shona and English vocals.
The tracks carries the DJ Oats trademark of tribal sound, but this time around there is an addition of live instruments with the likes of Cedric Ncube on the guitar bringing some contemporary element to the sound.
“I am still on that tribal style. I will always stick to my style. That’s my identity,” said DJ Oats.
Ndini which is more of a motivational song carries that feel good and sing along attribute, Bernadette M’s high vocals took charge over the beat giving more life to the song.
The track is currently on rotation on various radio stations, it has also been put up for free download online.
“We (are) bringing last year back,” said DJ Oats as he stated that he is marketing the song on various avenues and sensitising that it’s a hit like Ngoma Yorira.
The video for the track is currently under postproduction. It will be released early next year.
He is working on a Ndini tour that will see him travel around the country performing.
DJ Oats hinted that he is also working on improving the distribution channels for his music since his previous album was distributed in a manner that he had not wanted.
Explaining on why he has been absent in the forefront after scooping a number of awards last year, he said he has been putting in work with his label mates such as Bernadette M and other House University music label artists.
he said: “We have been focusing on producing the teams’ projects, their albums will be out next year”.
Apart from releasing new music he has also been involved in charity works where he is offering his disc jockey services to various schools as a way of raising funds to develop certain areas within the schools.
