Walters recently completed his Standard Seven at Ikhutseng Primary School in Francistown.

He joined Ngwana Entreprises in 2013 where he got inspiration to start developing games.

Ngwana Enterprises is Botswana’s leading local entrepreneurship, employability solutions, education and enterprise development network.

Walters said that he came up with the initiative of inventing the game when Ngwana Enterprises sponsored him to a Makgadikgadi Epic Bird Sanctuary tour in 2014.

He added that during the tour the inspiration for the development of this prototype business idea came out of inventing a game.

“I believe that having the historical and educational background of Makgadikgadi Salt Pans will unfold the beauty and uniqueness of our tourism industry, which is a sector that needs to be promoted,” he said.

He stated that he came up with the idea of having an animated documentary or game that will make Botswana’s rich flora and fauna known throughout the world.

Walters disclosed that outside the school environment, he enjoys learning new technology and he is a self-taught tech-entrepreneur who developed a passion for it at the age of nine.

The young inventor said that he was hampered by lack of sponsorship to finish his game on time.

When addressing the media, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Ngwana Enterprises, Mooketsi Tekere said that the event is a demonstration of the skills possessed by young people in the country, which more often than not go to waste, if not nurtured.

He also said that the event marked the celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), which is celebrated over 160 countries.

He explained that GEN is a year round platform of programmes and initiatives created by the communities that celebrate the Global Entrepreneurship week each November.

He added that Ngwana Enterprises is going to launch the idea developed by Walters in the city at the Entrepreneurship Expose for children early December. “This event will bring every child interested in business from the community to learn, network, connect with other kid-preneurs,” he said.Tekere said Walters is a brilliant student whose innovative and creativity is an indication that there are a lot of skilled kid-preneurs around the country whose talents have not been harnessed.
