Lies, the biggest killer of relationships

That being said, rom-com films are usually funny, and centreed on ironic romantic relationships of the characters. How To Make Love Like An Englishman is no different. A woman starts to fall in love with a successful college professor, Richard, played by Pierce Brosnan who had a baby with her younger sister Kate.

Action

Pierce Brosnan and Jessica Alba’s intricate love affair between an older man and a younger super model illustrates the famous relationship stereotype “age ain’t nothing but a number”. Such naughty events of this rom-com reflect real life relationship drama upon which younger females opt for grown up companions for the sake of material gain. The film is eloquently engaging in that sense. The movie’s twists and revelations are also quite good. Even though this film is a comedy, it has in store some serious messages as it tries to explain why some children are raised by single parents.

The film taps on love, family, lies, cheating, secrecy and dilemmas. This film is hilarious, frankly speaking, because it derives its humour from infidelity habits. For instance, Olivia played by Salma Hayek mocks the manner in which men can’t control themselves when it comes to women. She left the audience in stitches when she described the sounds men make in bed saying they sound like a sports commentators screaming or horses. Richard and Kate’s dysfunctional family woes rub off on their children. The film is explicit as it has scenes of nudity. The cinematography is very romantic. How To Make Love Like An English Man is a good depiction of what it takes to have a family and what it takes to lose one, Lies.
