Police XI management intervenes in technical team squabbles

Moyo joined Police XI at the beginning of the season after leading Orapa United to second place finish in the league last season. His arrival saw Lotlaamoreng, who was at the helm last season, relegated to the assistant coach position. Both Letsholathebe and Lotlaamoreng were on the sidelines in the 1-0 defeat to Rollers in the league encounter after their suspension. However following the intervention of the executive committee, normalcy has returned and the two assistant coaches are back in the team. Club chairperson, Solomon Mantswe yesterday confirmed the situation is back to normal and that they will have a fully-fledged technical team on Sunday against Rollers. “I am (a) bit constrained to go into the details regarding the misunderstandings because we want the issue to be put to bed but I am happy to say that we managed to reconcile them and we move on,” Mantswe said yesterday.
He said it is normal that people working together or family members will once in a while have misunderstandings and it sometimes takes a parent to reconcile them. “As the committee, we sat down and reconciled them and our focus now is on the second leg of the Mascom Top quarterfinal against Rollers.
We are busy planning the downfall of Rollers. People forget that we scored two away goals and anything is possible in the second leg,” he said. Police lost 4-2 away in the first leg despite taking an early 2-0 lead. ECCO public relations officer, Ontiretse Israel echoed his colleagues’ sentiments. “The only reason we find ourselves in the First Division is because we lost our sponsor and then we were deep in financial struggles and ultimately lost our players but as a big team we want to get back to the Premiership.
“We want to be the first team to take ownership of the new Francistown stadium. We are just a few points from the leaders and we are confident we will get our momentum soon and we will be there at the top in the end,” he said.
