Kast�s fill up the stadium concert billed for next year

The Kast Stadium Capacity Concert will be held in May 14 next year. Kast lodged the intention to fill up the stadium after South African musician Casper Nyovest announced his fill up the dome campaign in September.
Announcing this through a press release from Kast Foundation, Kast said the stadium Capacity Campaign is an initiative to fill up the national stadium with a 100 percent Botswana music line-up.
“The campaign is aimed at galvanizing Batswana around local music and the arts. Currently local music is largely an informal sector with a majority of artists being marginalised and not prioritized, as it is the case with their international counterparts,” he said.
The rapper whose real name is Tshepiso Molapisi said the campaign will inspire Botswana audiences to become a part of the first ever stadium capacity event featuring upcoming and top local artists.
“This is an all-encompassing event that will also celebrate other local artisans such as local fashion designers, fine artists, poets, sculptors etc,” he said.
The optimistic rapper said fine artists and sculptors will display their pieces around the stadium and Botswana cuisine will be served.
The veteran rapper added that all attendees and all performing artists will be urged to wear local brands in an effort to celebrate Botswana, and to grow the Botswana brand and the entertainment industry as a whole.
“Between 10am and 5pm it will be a family friendly festival with family friendly entertainment along with local music performances and there after a music festival with a 100 percent local music content,” he said.
Although a lot of artists have already endorsed the idea, the sejabana hit-maker said he would reveal the artists line-up later. Though he was inspired by Casper Nyovest’s fill up the dome campaign, Kast has already pointed out that he didn’t steal the idea like some people suggest.
Kast is on a verge of making history by becoming the first local musician to successfully campaign to fill up the 22 500-seater stadium capacity. Kast said the tickets for the event are available at all Web tickets.
