The leadership of the Botswana Council of Churches (BCC), comprising of Heads of Churches and Institutions, Staff and the BCC Churches across the country send you their prayers and deepest sympathy for the tragedy that has befallen our nation, in particular Matsha Senior Secondary School, the affected families and the Kang community.

We pray for speedy recovery of those who are injured and assure them of our support. We are aware of the scars they will carry in their life journey; both physical and emotional. We avail ourselves to provide psychosocial support and chaplaincy to them and Matsha Senior Secondary School.  We commend to God’s eternal keeping the souls of the students who lost their lives. We celebrate with you their lives as a precious gift from God and thank God for the privilege of touching many lives through their beautiful souls.    As we mourn their death, may we all find comfort in the words of our brother St Paul when he says;

“For none of us lives to himself/herself alone and none of us dies to himself/herself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.”             Romans 14:7-8

May the presence of God the Creator give you Strength;

May the presence of God the Redeemer give you Peace;

May the presence of God the Sustainer give you Comfort;

May the presence of God the Sanctifier give you Love.
