Celebrating mens health month

Men generally are people who are not keen about their health. With this initiative of celebrating health this month it will bring significant help to make men ware of health issues surrounding them.

This initiative will push a large number of people to realize the significance of making regular trips to the doctor and any other health facilities around them.

Not every thing comes easily, it might be easy for us to say that men should take their health seriously but the reality is that this is an enormous task for them and the movement to go forward is usually slow.  Since women have made great strides in putting their health first or  first on the priority list we could use our knowledge and experience to help men come out of their comfort zones.

We can accompany them to health institutes to get more valuable information that can help save their precious lives.

Our country has been fighting the HIV/AIDS pandemic for more than a decade now and men are still lacking behind. Some are still not comfortable with the idea of going for HIV/AIDS testing.

Findings show that men have a weakness of not knowing how to deal with sensitive issues, they harbor them which puts them in a dangerous position as most of them tend to suicide. Statistics show that a lot of reported suicide cases are more on the men side.

Men encounter hectic problems with accepting certain misfortunes that they bump into in their journey of life.

It becomes difficult for them to disclose their HIV/AIDS statuses as compared to women. Women are naturally very good at handling issues that provokes their emotions, they know how to soothe away pain and anxiety.

With us having the ability to handle such issues we can play a great role in the lives of our male counterparts, we can support and help them take their health more seriously, to utilize all the vital health facilities presented before them such as testing kits, prescribed medication, medical schemes and clinics.  There are also chronic diseases that are highly affecting men and our brothers are not even aware about them. It is our responsibility for us women to bring relevant information about them closer to them.

With us having access to the internet and other media platforms we can use them to our advantage to educate our brothers about anything that could harm them or their health.

Like it or not the aftermath always hits severely back on us women, we find ourselves forced to give extra care to  them when tables turn.  Prostate cancer is on the rise and a lot of men do not have information about it, it is important for all men to do regular cancer tests as they also find themselves on the risk of getting the disease.

Another issue that a lot of people tend to forget about is obesity, it is increasing rapidly due to fact that we eat a lot of fast foods. In the long run this problem is going to affect a lot men since they are not masters of the kitchen.

I feel pity for them because in most cases  they are not cautious about what they eat or drink, once again the issue reflects back on us women we are the ones that own the kitchen space.

The task is upon us to make our brothers be more cautious about what they eat and how to avoid food substances that could impair their health.

A healthy lifestyle  for our male counter parts also relies on us too, if we could support one another then we can be sure of a healthy nation.
