Decomposed body of woman found in Tonota

Station commander of Tonota police, Oteng Ngada said the woman was buried on Monday as her body was badly decomposed following the conduction of post mortem, the results of which are still pending.

 

“We received a report around 1415 hours on Sunday from a person who had gone to check the deceased at her place. When the person who went to check the deceased knocked at the door, no one was responding and she then went to the door after she sensed an unusual smell,” said Ngada.

 

“She then found the deceased sleeping on her bed dead before she informed us. From the information we had gathered so far, we have discovered that the old woman was staying alone.”

 

Ngada added that they suspect the woman died a few days earlier because her body was badly decomposed.

 

“At this juncture we don’t suspect that the woman was killed, but we will only confirm if there was any foul play after we get the results of the post mortem report.”

 

Ngada pleaded with members of the public never to leave children or elders alone because something bad may happen to them in the absence of other family members.
