Police Investigate Chibuku Poisoning

Station Commander Superintendent Onneetse Gagogosha said it is alleged the suspect brought the Chibuku to the victims to share and he asked her mother not to drink. He said after drinking, they felt dizzy and started to vomit before they were rushed to the hospital where they were treated and discharged.

He said the suspect earlier denied the act but later admitted that he poisoned the duo and he was taken for a confession statement before the District Commissioner. Gagogosha said they are awaiting results from the forensic lab and the suspect will appear before a Magistrate soon.

In a similar case, Gagogosha said they are investigating a case in which a 32-year-old man of Jerusalema in Moshupa allegedly drank poison after his 52-year-old lover said he raped her. He said it is reported that the two met in Moshupa on November 8 before the suspect had canal knowledge of the victim without her consent and rushed to Monnamme lands where he allegedly drank poison.

He was discovered by other herdmen vomiting and he was rushed to Kanye Hospital and ultimately transferred to Princess Marina Hospital in a critical condition. Gagogosha said after recovery they will continue with investigations of the alleged rape.

In other news, the newly opened Saverite Supermarket in Moshupa was robbed goods and cash amounting to P12,600 recently. Gagogosha said they received a report that five men who were in kupper-hats attacked the security officer with what was suspected to be a gun before they tied them with a rope and locked him in the storeroom. He said no one has been arrested yet and he pleaded for assistance from the public to help arrest the suspects.
