According to MTN finance manager Mthulisi Malinga, through the licence they will be able to build frequency to wireless network allowing them to offer broadband without relying on other providers.

“We are currently relying on Botswana Fibre Networks (Bofinet) for last mile infrastructure, which is Fibre and Licensed frequency wireless,” he said.

Malinga noted that through the licence they want to ensure that as MTN Business they better service the country by giving them the best connectivity layer thus helping the economy.

“There is a huge opportunity in extending our services to the residential and customer market, which prompted us to develop a broadband service suitable for both residential and Small Owner Home Owners,” said Malinga.

He added that they are also focusing on providing corporate clients and Small Medium Enterprise’s dedicated and symmetric connectivity services.

MTN Business Botswana, through the investments made by the MTN group in the seven undersea cables connecting Africa and the rest of the world, has access to international bandwidth.
