Gbaby Alp hopes for a big break with Tomato Soso

The artiste from Molepolole village told Showtime in an interview that Tomato Soso is a house song that borrowed from a fairy tale about a bird that used to take children to its nest.

“It is also borrowed from an old song Tamati Soso which was sang by kids gathered in the streets. The content also features the now situation as we are to dance while putting on masks and the events are attended by small number of people. Gender based cases on a rise hence ladies are encouraged to take care of themselves all the time,” she further revealed.

The 29 year-old woman who penetrated the music industry as a talent agent admitted that she had a seatback because she could not gain acceptance as a female record producer in a male dominated career. “The struggle was caused by the fact that I had not identified my type of production style.I largely borrowed from the European house and African Drums so I hope Tomato Soso could be the beginning of greater things,” she highlighted.

Gbaby Alp also told Showtime that she did not complete her university education because she loved music so much and it complicated her career choices. She also added that growing up in a male dominated family also had an effect as she went on to football up to college level.

Now she is ready to leave all that behind and focus on her one true passion which is music, Gbaby Alp said she is currently working on releasing an EP this year.
