FMM, in partnership with House of Twich which is London-based, will host the first ever Mister Africa International on December 3 at Fairground Holdings from 7pm until late. Botswana’s representative will be Mr Ideal Botswana, Joseph Jojo Wellio who won the pageant on October 31 at the Chiefs Monument by Central Business District (CBD). FMM bought the franchise of House of Twich for the year 2015-2016.  Representatives from 31 countries will convene in Gaborone from across the globe so as to compete for the title of Mr Africa Ideal.  These 31 men will arrive in Botswana on November 29.

“Pageants enthusiasts can look forward to a night of glitz and glam as we are bringing only the best,” said FMM events manager, Kefilwe Mukokoni. She further explained that Wellio is the best representative for Botswana.

The theme this year will be ‘Eye of the Tiger’ and it just focuses on the men’s virtues or attributes.

According to Mukokoni, the pageant creates a platform for men to discuss social issues like circumcision, gender, HIV/AIDS, health to mention but a few.

International artists like Naomi Mac from Nigeria will serenade the crowd with her Nigerian pop music.

Afrikanas from Angola and Botswana’s songstress Maxy are also billed to perform. Prayer Soul, who is an acrobat, will also showcase his skills on the night. South Africa’s television celebrity, Dineo Ranaka and Kabelo Brown will co-host the show. On November 30, there will be a fashion show that will cultivate cultural exchange at Fairgrounds Holdings.

All designers who exhibited at the MYSC fashion show will dress up the models and make their garments available for sale. Renault Botswana will provide transportation for these contestants during their stay in Gaborone.  Wellio told Showbiz that, he is excited about the pageant and is still overwhelmed by his winning of Mr Ideal Botswana pageant. “ I did not expect to win this title as I had never entered any contest before,” said Wellio.  Modelling has been Wellio’s part time job during his varsity days from 2014 til now.   The soft engineering graduate from Botho University hails from Maun and is looking forward to opportunities that pageants and modelling will offer.  “The only change is that I am now an ambassador for the country and this opportunity might be the stepping stone to my dreams,” said Wellio.  Since starting to model in 2014, Wellio has been featured in a lot of photo shoots for designers and has participated in the Masa Wedding Expositions from 2014 to 2015.

Tickets will be available soon; a Gold is P500 including complimentary cocktail drink, VIP at P800 inclusive of finger foods with limited drinks and finally Kings&Queens tickets will be P1,000 inclusive of dinner and unlimited drinks.  This pageant will be the fourth season and FMM is excited and honoured to be hosting the pageant in Botswana.
