The five events are: Mr Botswana, Botswana’s Strongest Man, Men’s Fitness, Miss Bikini and Junior Body Building.  Botswana’s Strongest Man contest would be held at the Airport Junction Mall in the morning.

Event manager, Mercedes Mabiletsa said since there are a number of contests, the judges would look at various elements per competition.

“Mr Botswana will entail body flexing and showing off of muscles and general body build. Botswana’s Strongest Man will entail a much more physically challenging trail of events, which will include tyre flip, farmers walk, truck pull, dead lift, load and push,” she said. Men’s Fitness is for lightly built individuals with a good physique.  Miss Bikini, which was recently introduced, is for women and will focus on how physically fit the women are and how they appear in bikinis.

“The utmost objective of this show is to promote fitness and health.  It’s to motivate and encourage people of all ages to convert to a healthier lifestyle,” she said.

Bodybuilders like Edward Maloiso, Simba Rashefero, Steve Bolosang and Gontse Sechele have won the various competitions before.

Registration fee is P300 and would be done on the day of the competition.  Established body builders such as South African, Ndumiso Dholodholo and Sechele would contest. The competition has been going on for the past four years, except in 2014.
