Another NSCI pipeline shutdown

WUC says the emergency shutdown will be done to carry out repairs on two leaks that the pipeline has developed at the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST).

The shutdown will result in periods of no water supply in Mahalapye and the Greater Gaborone area.

Normal supply will be restored as from November 14 2015. Different areas will recover at different times.

NSCI is a pipeline that transports water from the Letsibogo and Dikgatlhong dams to the south of the country to supply the Greater Gaborone area. The pipeline also supplies Palapye, Mahalapye, Serowe.

WUC urges all water users to use the available water sparingly, avoid water hoarding and adhere to the water restrictions which have been in effect since August 2012.
