Motswako Invasion will be hosted at Masakeng Rec Park in Morwa on November 21. This is the second installment of the event in the country.

“This year we went all out for this event. We have hired the best equipment and we want to prove a point to minister Olopeng who said we are not capable of hosting events of a high magnitude,” said event organiser, Massie Hule, adding that they will invite the minister to come and bear witness.

Motswako Invasion is trending with a hash tag Reakgona. “This is directed at the minister. We just want to show him that we can also do it”.

The organisers recently released the line-up on their Facebook page. The line-up has close to 20 international and local Motswako artists with the edition of Kwaito and Rap artists.

The line-up has artists such as Khuli Chana, JR, Lection, Drama Boi, DJ Khenzo, Zeus and Flo Cater, among others. The line-up did not please some Motswako revellers, because it does not have artists such as Tuks and Notshi.

Of great interest about this year’s Motswako Invasion is that it has included two Motswako queens, Sasa Klaas and Fifi Cooper, which is something that revellers have been yearning for.

“We deliberately released such a line-up because we want to keep on surprising them. Next week Monday we are putting more additions on the line-up.

Who knows, maybe their favourites will be included,” Hule said.He stated that they decided to add non-Motswako artists such as DJ Tira and Dream Team on the line-up because they are friends of Motswako.

It starts at 2pm and ends at 2am the following morning. Free braii will be offered during the day for the early birds. The event, which is organised by locals, has also been hosted in neighbouring countries such as Lesotho and South Africa.

Tickets are available at Shoprite and Checkers stores.
