Rollers Outpace Cops Again

The first real opportunity came in the 24th-minute with Rollers playing quick, short passes and Boy fired the parting shot, which however, was narrowly wide. Police XI were content sitting back, and absorbing the early pressure.
Kawashu Makai fouled Rollers skipper, Maano Ditshupo in the 30th-minute, but Boy’s free kick was well saved by Bokamoso Moeba.
Rollers made two changes after the break with player-assistant coach, Sekhana Koko introduced for Joel Mogorosi while Jerome Louis replaced Jerome Ratlhakwana. The changes brought life into the unbeaten leaders’ play as they put pressure on Police XI’s defence.
With the game seemingly headed for a stalemate, Ditshupo won a ball in the middle of pitch. The skipper pushed the ball to Louis who laid to substitute Edwin Moalosi at the edge of the box. Moalosi found Boy with a through pass and the attacker did not make any mistake as he slammed the ball into the roof of the net, to celebrate his 23rd birthday in style. Police XI coach, Maxwell Moyo expressed his disappointment at conceding the goal, but backed his boys to improve in the next game. “It was a tight game. The lucky team won, not necessarily the one who was on top of the other. At times you need to grow and as Police XI I believe we are still lacking here and there,” he said.
His opposite number Rollers’ coach, Mark Harrison expressed his delight with his team playing until the very end. “I keep telling the guys it takes 90 minutes to win the game and today they proved it. I am pleased we got three points at the end,” he said.
