Flamingoes, who are making a return to the First Division North, were unbeaten in six games before their weekend loss. The Sowa outfit has won five games and drew one scoring 11 times and conceding three goals.

The club’s public relations officer, Masego Taziba said they are not bothered by the defeat.  He said it would not derail them, but instead use it to their advantage.

Taziba said: “We have done well in our past games and we can’t beat ourselves for this loss. Besides it was not out of tactics that we lost. We just had few silly moments in the game and we were punished.

“This is a blessing in disguise. It gives us the opportunity to go back and correct where we overlooked. We will assess where we didn’t do well and we need to guard against complacency. Our aim is still to get an automatic promotion to the elite league and we are confident we will realise that.”

He said the boys could have been complacent, as all teams below them had lost on Saturday. Flamingoes have given their players a day off to rest before they resume training today.

Meanwhile, Ma moja Diski mentor, Texan Phiri said their win was a result of the hard work they put in training. He said the win against the log leaders was critical, as it will reduce the margin between the two.

Phiri added: “We are working our socks off in preparing for our games. A win against Sowa will go a long way and it might just turn out very important in the last days. We just hope we find our footing and get our consistency right. The league is still open and our primary objective is to go back into the premiership. We will fight in every game.”
