Men found with explosives, police uniforms in court

 

Tebogo Tsekane (32), and Teko Sechele (34), were found in possession of explosives at Phase 4 location on June 25 in 2010, three police uniforms, two police vehicles number plates, all illegally acquired, according to the charge sheet.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and told the court that they will engage attorneys to represent them in the matter. Prosecutor Carol Mantle said that she does not object to the accused being given bail on condition that they attend court as and when required to do so.

Mantle added that the state will call six witnesses to prove its case against the accused.

Principal Magistrate Dumisani Basupi said that the accused are facing serious crimes and they should therefore be given stringent bail conditions to make sure that they appear in court. Basupi granted the accused bail on condition that they each pay P2,000, produce two sureties who shall each pay P500, should not interfere with state witnesses, report to the nearest police station every Monday between working hours and attend court as and when required to do so.Trial dates in the matter have been set for March 14 and 15 next year.
