Exam Papers Mix Up At Ledumang Senior School

The South East Region director in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development, Benson Rauwe, confirmed the incident. Rauwe said they were aware of the incident where papers, which were stored in the same area, ended up being mixed up. He however would not be dragged into discussing the matter and referred The Monitor to the Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) for more details.

The BEC corporate communications manager, Fingile Makgalemele, also confirmed the incident but said the situation was not bad as the students had not seen the content of the paper.  “The teacher who was invigilating mistakenly opened a wrong paper, but they realised before they distributed it,” she said. Makgalemele said the incident is being investigated as to what could have caused the mistake. She further said they have not experienced any other problems.

Meanwhile Rauwe said on their side as the ministry their only worry with the ongoing examinations is students who do not come to school.

“Everything is going well at the moment. The only problem we have is that some students do not come to school to write their examinations, but we do follow up with them and take them to school,” he said.
