Despite starting off slow, the Splash   show picked pace after Matshikos took to the stage. The played songs from their 1990s albums.

Hit songs such as Who Is Gonna Change This World, got revellers on the dance floor while others sang along.

Artists such as Jojo, Kay and Peacock who warmed the stage for Matshikos also did their part while managing to get the crowd dancing to their songs.

Most artists who performed on the day sampled songs from their upcoming albums, much to the delight of the fans. Dalom Kids gave a sterling performance, getting fans screaming for more.

The main and final act was Splash’s leader and founder Dan Tshanda who did not disappoint either. He performed at the wee hours of Sunday.  His band was lively, and the audience responded as if they haven’t been dancing the whole night. It was a show to remember from the ‘The Boss’ as many Splash lovers affectionately call him. Just like Matshikos, Tshanda performed his popular songs, which many people related to. The show, which has become synonymous with criminal activities, was quite and peaceful this time around. Although it attracted a big crowd, throngs of police officers were deployed to keep the situation in check.

The organiser of the show, Mogatusi Sebego said the event could have gone well had it not for issues he encountered with the owners of the venue. He said his clients were not allowed to drink alcohol inside the Amphitheatre, a move that did not bode well with Splash fans. He said he was also not allowed to sell alcohol during the show despite being given a permit that allowed him to do so. Sebego was happy though that the security was tight and no criminal incidents were reported.
