Electronic registration worries First Division North

The e-registration system is a requirement for all teams affiliated to FIFA and it provides a database for all the players, for easy access and tracking of player movements.

The regional secretary general, Rapula Gaotlhobogwe said the system provides convenience and will reduce cases of defaulters, which continuously affect the DFDN. However, he said few teams have showed progress on registration.

“We have set the end of first leg of the season as the final date for submission and that will be in December.

The process is going at a snail’s pace and teams have not come forward to alert us of any problems. We can only suspect that their processes could be delayed by the ongoing league games.

“We encourage them to keep us updated of their progress and shortfalls. We know medicals could come at a price for the teams, but we have afforded the teams enough time so that they can be able to queue at the government’s facilities where they can get cheaper services,” Gaotlhobogwe said.

Meanwhile, the teams pointed out the registration is ongoing and they expect to complete the process in time to meet the set deadline.

Real Movers’ Keleneetse Leposo said, “We are underway, we are using both the government hospital and the private clinics although they come at a price.

 We are almost complete and we are only awaiting medical results and a final report. I believe we will be done in a month’s time.”

Palapye All Stars’ chairman, Molefhe Obenne said they are faced with a problem of players who are still dragging their feet.

“Our focus is that we submit on time but our players keep evading the process.

Palapye Primary Hospital has awarded us space to book three players in a space of a week and if we could manage to follow the schedule we will be done before the deadline date,” Obenne said.
