Serumola brings a number of titles home

She brought home various titles from the just-ended beauty pageant in Mexico. On top of the first princess title, Serumola won the Best Traditional Wear, Best Body, Best Participant and the Best African Ambassador.
In an interview with Showbiz, Serumola said she had hope and believed that she could do something for her country.
“It was my first international competition so it means more hard work for me,” she said. Serumola said now that she has won the titles she would concentrate on community work and promoting Botswana culture.
She mentioned various challenges in the activities she competed in.
“In the end I managed to prevail because I know my culture and the elegance I represent as a woman,” she added.
Serumola said she was able to blend in because the Mexicans were hospitable. Throughout the entire competition, Serumola said she learnt to believe in herself.
“I had the right confidence and I was proud of Botswana as my native country,” she said.
She said beauty pageants were her calling therefore she would continue to participate in other beauty pageants so that she can grow.
Serumola scooped the second prize in a competition of eight contestants.
Before her departure, Serumola told Showbiz that she would do her best to bring the crown home.
She had promised that she would live in Botswana even if she won the title. “No I wont relocate,” she had emphasised. “My heart is here.”j
Serumola, who is a bachelor of science student in emergency medical care at Boitekanelo College, said she intended to travel more and sell Botswana to the world.
The 20-year old said in order to pursue a career in modelling, one have to be determined. She thanked everyone who supported her.
Miss Culture and Peace International started in 2014. This year, eight countries: Botswana, Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Portugal and USA participated.
Botswana was the only African country that was represented in the pageant.
