The club will host a membership drive activation in Lobatse tomorrow from 8am where club merchandise will also be sold. Club spokesperson, Gerald Mahumba said the campaign will kickstart in Lobatse before it spreads across the country. He said the intention is to push for supporters to authenticate their allegiance with the club so that they can be able to form part of the decision making as per the club constitution. “Most of the time we intensify registration after the annual general meeting (AGM).

Since the last AGM, the registration has been low key because most of the people rely on football activities and there has not been any for some time,” he said. Mahumba said they hope the campaign will assist their branches to gain more members.

He said the club currently has 18 branches and the requirement is that each branch should have a minimum of 100 members. Although the problem appears to cut across all community teams, Gunners have also experienced a situation where they are known to be crowd pullers but the numbers do not correspond with registered members.

Mahumba said it is time Gunners’ supporters do the right thing, which will not only be beneficial to the club but also those members. “Gunners is a society and for one to be a member of a society, you have to register.

The time is now for our fans to become members and not only be identified by replicas. At the moment we have one category, which is the ordinary membership.

It goes for P100 annually but we are still working on something, and in the future, we have other categories,” he said. Despite losing quality players like Olekantse Mambo, Tshepo Motlhabankwe and Mmoloki Kebapile, the club has equally managed to bring in new quality players. Lesego Lubinda is expected to revitalise Gunners attack while Percy More, who arrived on loan from Rollers, will add stability in the defence.
