Pilikwe United chairman, Fobby Radipotsane said they come a long way with De Vre Trans and hoped their relationship will continue.

“Our relationship with De Vre Trans comes from far back in 2009. They will provide the team with a complete range of apparels including home kit, away kit and alternative kit.

“The company shall also provide the team with transport and meals for all our away games. Furthermore, the sponsor will also assist Pilikwe United Under-13 team as well as the Under-15 team. We recently registered a women’s team, Pilikwe United ladies team and they will also benefit from the sponsorship,” Radipotsane said.

He said his team is fortunate in that most teams in the lower league face kit challenges. Radipotsane said since establishing a relationship with De Vre Trans, they have seen their players turn-out for national teams. Pilikwe United had five players in the Under-17 team that qualified for the Youth Championships held in Morocco two years back.

“We produced the likes of Thato Kebue, Goitseone Legopelo, Daniel Kedidimetse, Kebatshabile Momphe and Amogelang Banda who are now all representing us well at Motlakase. The programme has contributed a lot in taking children off the streets,” he said.

De Vre Trans director, De Vrye van Dyk hopes the sponsorship will help the team as well as contribute to the growth of football in general. He said they believe in assisting community teams like Pilikwe United that help groom youngsters from an early age and taking children off the streets.

“Helping community teams like Pilikwe United is a way of giving back to the society and there is no better way to do it than investing in young talent and taking children off the streets,” said Dyk.

He said additionally, the company assists the team with trophies for awards and balls at the beginning of the season.
