The Botswana Netball Association (BONA) president, Tebogo Lebotse-Sebego said the Under-21 side, selected from the ongoing Super Spar tournament, would face the Asians.

The Super Spar tournament features Under-21 north and south teams. From the two teams, BONA selected 16 players who will now play friendly matches next week against the Singapore side.

The Singapore side will also play against a select national team side comprising 12 players who were selected from the Future Stars teams also currently competing in the Super Spar tournament. The future teams comprised players whose age ranges from 21 to 25.

The Singapore side’s visit is expected to give the locals a chance to test their strengths before the six-nations tournament, which will be hosted by Singapore in December. Besides Botswana and Singapore, the tournament also features Namibia, Northern Ireland, Chinese Taipei and Papua New Guinea. Botswana will select 12 players for the tournament, which takes place from December 13 to December 19.
