Sources within the police service tipped Mmegi of these developments.
“He was released on Saturday, but its not like investigations into the matter have stopped, investigations continue, the police are hard at work,” said a source in the Botswana Police Service.
Authorities in the police service have, however, refused to comment on the latest developments.
Montshiwa was allegedly shot at close range at his home in Block 6 on October 18 2015. Neighbours who heard the shot, described the man who walked out of Montshiwa’s yard after the shooting, as a light-skinned man of medium size height. The suspect drove off in a red GTI Golf that was parked by the deceased’s driveway.
“The person was holding a long gun (rifle),” said one of the deceased’s neighbours.
Police declined to comment on the matter but said that investigations are ongoing.
