Two die after Drinking tea

Sejelo Station Commander, Sello Ntwaagae, confirmed in an interview that the two men were reported to have died after drinking tea and eating bread. “I can confirm that such an incident happened. We attended to the two men who died and we are still trying to see what could have happened,” he said.

He however said that initial investigations have established that the men were three in total and all drank the tea and ate bread, but only two died. “The other one admitted that he also drank the tea and ate the bread but he was admitted and discharged the same day while the other two died the same day,” he said.

Ntwaagae explained that investigations further revealed that the men were builders tasked with building a house and had decided to have that breakfast before beginning the work that early morning. He said what later transpired was still under investigations and that hopefully all will be revealed once everything has been covered, including a post mortem.

He maintained that at the moment investigations were still ongoing and declined to comment further saying the family needs to be afforded time to mourn first. Meanwhile the deceased men are from Kanye and Maokane. Efforts to talk to the bereaved families of the deceased proved futile at the time of going to print.
