Angels gained promotion to the First Division three years back. In their maiden season, Angels finished fourth, before two successive third-place finishes. Football authorities ended the league prematurely last season amid the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) when Angels were in a good position to win the league or at least compete for the promotional play-off.

Mpatane said his team is gunning for promotion to the elite league because they have gained enough experience since they arrived in the First Division. “We have now started to train.

Our aim this season is to gain automatic promotion to the Premier League come rain or sunshine,” an optimistic Mpatane said. Mpatane, whose team is mainly composed of players who are under 23-years-old, said that he has also promoted five players from the team’s Under-17 side. “We pride ourselves in elevating players from our youth academy.

It is a culture for our team to always give a chance to young players from our academy. Our players that we loaned to TAFIC Football Club last season are also training with us although we are yet to speak to TAFIC if we can secure their services for good. They have not been getting enough game time at TAFIC hence they are now training with us.” The coach said the club has the right material to help the Francistown side gain promotion to the elite league.
