Teams

Orapa United

The concerns were caused by fragmented human resources, lack of sponsorship, unsustainability of teams in the premier and first division, and the creation of an unhealthy scenario of competition among the Orapa community.
There were many teams in the town, but capable people were scattered all over, so none of the teams benefited from this.
There were five teams in Orapa which were BUCS, Wanderers, Boteti, White Diamonds and Swallows - three of them competing in first division north and two plying their trade in division one of Boteti Regional football association.
This fragmentation of resources led to Orapa teams failing to sustain themselves in the premier league and the first division.
The teams were managed by a few individuals using their own resources and this practice resulted in members shying away from teams. This practice besides dropping the quality of football and promoting mismanagement, created another animal, 'none compliance to legal requirements'.
People whether aligned to these teams or not were tired of poor quality football, and therefore the project which resulted in the formation of Orapa United Football Club started operation in June 2011.
