BDF XI

 

 

The stalwarts behind the club’s formation were amongst others, the Retired Senior Army Officers in the likes of Major General B K Oitsile, Colonel F. Katse and Lt Colonel F. Webb and many others.
BDF XI is based in Mogoditshane in the Kweneng Region. It is one of the giants of Kweneng Regional Football and they have never been relegated from the elite league.
The team boasts former national team players in the likes of the late Director Chikumbudzi, late Zara Ramanoko, late Rio Maswabi and Cocorico Mmese.
Some of the BDF XI Sporting Club players who are still active are Modiri Marumo who currently plies his trade at South African side Polokwane City, and Mompati Thuma who was captain of the Zebras as they qualified for their maiden AFCON in 2012.
The team currently has seven senior National Team players in Mokgathi Mokgathi, Kabelo Seakanyeng, Thato Ogopotse, Bonolo Phuduhudu, Mosha Gaolaolwe, Pelontle Lerole, and Othusitse Mpharitlhe.
BDF has won the league seven times in 1981, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1997, 2002 and, 2004. They also won the FA Cup three times in 1989, 1998 and 200. They won the Mascom top 8 in the 2013/14 season.
