“This was never about the money in the first place. I just know how to throw parties, because it was on my birthday.  I’d rather make money for the people who really need it, not for us who just want it”, said humble young radio host and philanthropist.

The donation was proceeds he raised from his  birthday party. Tha Party handed over the items  to KSWS officials recently and a statement he released later revealed  that the donation was worth P16,000. He acquired the funds from the gate-takings during his second annual Pay What You Want Music Fest birthday party three weeks ago at United Café 3.

At the event revellers paid with whatever amount they had at the entrance. In addition there are other resources such as blankets and clothes that were donated by other stakeholders that had partnered with the former Yarona FM radio host for this initiative.

KSWS said they appreciated the donation through their official, Innocentia Puso, who was on hand to receive the items.

She  expressed her 'heartfelt' gratitude  saying,   “Our relationship with Mdu is that of receiving material support for clients and to date he has lived up to his promise. There are people who make pledges but do not honour them. With Mdu he has been a shining example of the youth.'

She further stated that young people are often perceived as selfish individuals, but when a young person gives to charity it reflects an act of maturity.

This is the second time in two years that Tha Party has donated goods to KSWS,. The first donation was last year when he managed to raise P13,000, which he donated to the shelter.

This year’s event was thronged by a number of young urbanites that came to support Tha Party as they paid different amounts of money at the gate till United Café 3 was fully packed.

Entertainment was provided by a number of artists and DJs such as DJ Fauz, Ricky Lamar, Strictly House Bound, Prince De Kok and DJ Cupid. Some of these artists performed for free as a way of donating in kind.

Tha Party ,who is also an events promoter has a reputation of organising crowd-pulling events, the recent one being the Major League gig that was at Rock N Rollaz Club and the Play Fest. With this initiative, the young radio host has joined the likes of ATI and DJ Izzy who are involved in charity works.
