Triple Bill Dance Show Launches Today

The talented dance masters will also showcase a snippet of one of the dance stories that will be told during the Triple Bill Show. Mascom Chief Communications Officer, Tebogo Lebotse-Sebego will be the guest speaker at the event.

The theme, “The Botswana Untold Stories” follows the concept of the Triple Bill Show that will showcase three heart-warming dance stories of the then Botswana and the challenges faced by young and old people in Botswana now.

The Triple Bill show is part of the annual production aimed at exhibiting Mophato Dance Theatre’s choreography. A highlight to Batswana that talent, if brewed well can earn people a living, an ideal that should be embraced by Batswana.

The production is expected to thrill the nation with three stories aimed at establishing contemporary dance as a form of influence that can transform culture through the knowledge and consciousness it produces, in a dialectic process of transforming and being transformed.

Dance stories to be showcased are Wosana, Inyaya and Kulema. Wosana is a story about the rain dance shedding light on Botswana’s drought period. The story is a display of how rainmaking is performed in Botswana.

Inyanya is a story about the ritual murder of Segametsi Mogomotsi; a young girl who was killed for ritual purposes in Mochudi 21 years ago and the riots that ensued.

Kulema exposes challenging issues that enwrap many young people’s lives in Botswana.

The production aims at enlightening the youth through the untold stories as a way of assisting to mould their reality and help them aspire to be different.
