Stabbing spree suspect appears today

 

His first appearance was last week and he was remanded in custody.

Oteng Kefitlhile faces one count of murder and five counts of attempted murder and unlawful wounding.

The state alleges that on Independence eve, the accused murdered Lobatse Senior Secondary School Form Five student, Khumo Kgotlaetsile, by stabbing her several times. The victim died on the spot.

On count two, Kefitlhile, at an unspecified house in Woodhall 2 ward, stabbed Lesedi Molefhe with a knife several times.

Continuing the serial stabbings, on the fateful day, Kesentseng Lenyatso also fell victim. The accused person allegedly stabbed Lenyatso on the back with a knife before going on to stab Ipeleng Moncho five times on the right knee and once on the left knee still in the same neighborhood.

His alleged sixth victim, Fernando Babui was also severely stabbed and hospitalised at Princess Marina Hospital.

 Inspector Bakani Tsayang of Woodhall police said after arresting him, they found the accused person in possession of some substance believed to be marijuana.   Tsayang further said they have since sent the substance for forensic laboratory tests.

The victim, Kgotlaetsile, was laid to rest in Digawana village last weekend.
