The new spot in Gaborone was launched recently with ministers, dignitaries, and business people in attendance.

Seating at JBCN is formal, with a capacity of about 150 people overflowing to the terrace.  The atmosphere during the launch was romantic with great lighting and the magic mist provided along the terrace kept the entire space cool at all times.  Inside the lounge the dynamic lighting and sound combined to create an exhilarating experience.

JBCN general manager, Joseph Jederian, explained that the new restaurant offers a unique experience for VIP clientele.

The prices are higher than other popular spots, but affordable to those who can meet the expense of the lifestyle.

JBCN caters for mature clientele that loves the restaurant experience with great food and ambience for chilled drinking.

The sophisticated and technology advanced spot is fully equipped with huge LCD screens and projectors with HD quality.  The restaurant can be used as a conference facility as the décor is changeable. The director of ZAC Construction, who also owns Sky Lounge and Liban, owns the new eatery.  Architect John Aaron Pamani of Deep Koncepts, explained that the western side of the terrace will open a cigar lounge soon. Pamani said the project took about nine months to complete.

“In my mind for food to be unmatched or unparalleled I think it has to be magical.

The restaurant owner named the restaurant after his daughter Jessy and the lounge after his son Nicolas,” Pamani said.

Jessy’s Bistro attempts to capture the atmosphere of Traditional Venetian Wine cafés and a typical Parisian café street.

The ceiling and floor design draw inspiration from the Labyrinth. The labyrinth implies that life is a maze. Pamani revealed that Chez Nicolas lounge is inspired by the movie Star Wars. JCBN has a centralised audio-visual system, which can be zoned to four distinct areas.

The control cubicle serves also serves as a disc jockey and broadcasting booth. There are two giant screens and short throw projects linked to the Internet via a fibre optic cable, allowing for online streaming of Web based conferencing and product launches. The target market is the business community.

There is a big bar that serves unique cocktails such as Red and White wine Sangrias, Moscow Mule, and Japanese Cocktail and more. The joint has a resident DJ called, Codie.

“Jessy’s Bistro is the only restaurant with dedicated wine cooling facilities, and is augmented by a juice and coffee section, which will open from 7am until 11 pm. Chez Nicolas lounge will open from 1pm until late,” JBCN manager, Goboletswe Mokenane explained.

He added that they want to offer the best service and that is why they have efficiently trained the staff.
