How Zebras rated against Eritrea

Mogakolodi Ngele

Mogakolodi Ngele

Butler’s men boasted a two-goal lead coming into the fixture and wrapped up the second leg with a deserved 3-1 score line to advance with a 5-1 aggregate score.

Eritrea opened the scoring while Tsotso Ngele equalised for the Zebras with a free kick. Joel Mogorosi gave the Zebras the lead with a spectacular header before Ngele wrapped up the game with a sublime finish. This is how the players rated out of ten:

Kabelo Dambe 6

He had very little to do the whole night as he was never really challenged. A single real threat from Eritrea made sure he does not come out with a clean sheet.

Tebogo Sosome 6

He nearly cost the team on the 25th minute. However, he did not have much to do but was equal to the challenge when called.

Boitumelo Mafoko 7

He marshalled his defence really well and stayed strong.

Mosha Gaolaolwe 6.5

He showed composure on the ball and, together with his defence partners, had an easy night.

Galabgwe Moyana 8

Got forward really well, showed massive composure but was found lacking in defence. He produced scintillating crosses on the left that led to Joel Mogorosi’s goal.

Lebogang Ditsele 8

Box to box man. He was at the end of many Eritrea balls in the middle.

He moved swiftly to join attack as well as recovered well to assist in the middle and at the back. He showed great maturity in his play.

Ofentse Nato 8

Even though he seemed to be rooted at the centre of the park, Nato’s experience gave the team much balance in the middle that allowed Ngele and Ditsile to move forward freely.

Kabelo Seakanyeng  9

Seakanyeng was a handful for the Eritrea left back, continuously running at him. He laid in a lot of crosses that the strikers could have easily converted.

He twisted and turned the defence before he provided an assist for Ngele’s remarkable goal.

Mogakolodi Ngele  9.5

Brilliant free kick followed by a superb strike for his brace. Intelligent play throughout, a lot could be said but easily man-of-the-match.

Hendrick Moyo 7.5

Workhorse. Moved around intelligently and never allowed the Eritrea back four a chance to sleep. Although his finishing constantly let him down, he had a brilliant game.

Joel Mogorosi 8.5

He played well. Put the Zebras ahead with a wonderful header. Had few chances unmarked in the box, but his headers unfortunately went inches wide.

Subs

Kaone Vanderwesthuizen

 (for Moyana) 5.5

Pushed a bit forward and set up Segolame Boy in the box whose shot caused problems for the goalkeeper.

Segolame Boy (for Mogorosi)  6

Playmates who had a lapse became livelier with his introduction. Sent Moyo through with a splitting pass. Showed a lot of energy.

Lemponye Tshireletso 5

It was already late when he was introduced. Forced a save from the goalkeeper with a free kick.
