The play is scheduled to take place at Maitisong Theatre on Saturday.

Speaking to Showbiz, TNT director Christopher (CJ) Mangiroza stated that the theatrical dance play mainly focuses on the storyline of Moses who had been sent by God to rescue the children of Israel from Pharaoh’s cruelty.

“Exodus itself, which is the story of Moses will be mostly dance with added theatre.  We have added Afro fusion and contemporary to the routines,” he said.

A total number of 25 dancers will be participating in the theatrical dance play.

In the Book of Exodus we learn that Moses had to perform a number of miracles such as transforming his staff into a snake and parting the sea.  CJ stated that there would be a number of light and special effects to depict the miracles and certain activities.

CJ has been working as the choreographer of the whole project with assistance from senior TNT members.  Dance friends such as Moratiwa Molema, Sally Chabedi and musician, Cedric Ncube have been assisting them.

The theatrical dance play will be accompanied by some contemporary and Afro fusion dance music.  Ncube will close the show with a musical performance.

Before staging Exodus there will be an opening act by TNT and Aneroid crew titled The Students’ Plague, “This is more for the fans and children that have been following TNT for a while”.

He said Exodus is the beginning of TNT’s theatrical dance journey since they transforming from a dance group into a entertainment company.

“All in all, I believe the audience is going to enjoy this and the best part is it has two different audiences. Those who love street dance and those that love dance theatre,” he said. Tickets for the event are already up for sale at Maitisong Theatre.

With the new play TNT takes their cue from director Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods And Kings.
