Man arrested for saying Mugabe is old

According to myzimbabwe.co.zw,  28-year-old James Mwaya was arrested after a councillor from the ruling Zanu PF party accused of him insulting Mugabe during an altercation.

This is the second arrest under anti-insult laws reported in the last week.

The incident came to light after Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) group released a statement about it.

Apparently Mwaya told the councillor: 'Mugabe is old. He can no longer stand. That is why he read a wrong speech.' Mwaya was referring to when the 91-year-old president opened parliament last month, rereading a speech he had already made.
