Orange Botswana Employees Zumba Away For Charity

The funds raised from the activity will go towards donations to Kagiso Senior Secondary School in Ramotswa.

The hour-long Zumba session was  a thrilling and exciting way to get more people involved in the charitable cause. 

Gaborone City mayor, Kagiso Thutlwe  along with  Hip Hop sensations Scar, Dramaboi and Kast as well as Black Money Maker’s Figos  also joined the festivities  and interacted with the public for photo and autograph sessions.

Following the launch of the volunteering week, Orange employees will use their time and skills in different volunteering activities to take place at Kagiso Senior School  startiog today (Monday)  to Thursday. “We will be having a series of activities with the school during the next coming week. We will engage with the students through career fairs, ICT lessons, educational quizzes, litter picking and donation of library books and printers among other things,” said Boga Chilinde-Masebu, Orange PR and Foundation Manager.    The Orange International Employee Volunteering Week is an annual event endorsed and emphasised by Orange Group, where for a week members of staff who are volunteers are celebrated and employees are given time away from the office to engage in volunteering activities.  “At Orange we believe in giving back to the communities that we operate in. The objectives of volunteering week are to promote and profile the work of employees who are already volunteers and increase and encourage the volunteering spirit amongst Orange staff members,” added Chilinde-Masebu.

“To be part of this Zumba session, members of staff were encouraged to donate P30 whilst non-members of staff registered for  P50,” she said.

According to Chilinde-Masebu, the idea behind the Zumba session and the Photo/Autograph and Zumba session in the middle of the Main Mall is not only to create a buzz and excitement about the upcoming volunteering week, but also to take the brand to the people.

“We want to sensitise the public about volunteering as well as get them on board and encourage them to donate to the cause in a fun manner,” said Chilinde-Masebu.
