Butler hails professional perfomance

A first half goal from Galabgwe Moyana and a second from Joel Mogorosi was enough to give the Zebras the critical cushion needed ahead of tomorrow night’s reverse fixture.
“The lads put in a very professional, disciplined performance in very difficult circumstances. It was a packed crowd and an emotionally charged atmosphere as it was Eritrea’s first game after a long time,” Butler told Monitor Sport after the game.
He said the hosts fielded a number of internationals who ply their trade in countries such as Sweden, Italy and Sudan.
However, the Zebras always had an upper hand on a bumpy surface. “Our players played good football with discipline. I was delighted with their attitude and I am proud of them,” he said.
Butler said the mind set is that it’s still 0-0 heading to Francistown tomorrow.
“We have to do the job back at the spiritual home of football, that is Francistown. We are looking forward to playing in front of the Kalanga family,” he said.
The Zebras struck from a well-flighted corner before a typical opportunistic strike from Mogorosi sealed matters in the second half.
The Zebras arrive today and immediately prepare for what on paper, appears an easy assignment. Tomorrow’s match kicks-off at 8pm. The winner progresses to the second round where 27 top ranked African teams join the draw to make 40 teams.
The 40teams then go into the hat to play a knockout home and away tie with the emerging 20winners being drawn into five groups of four. The eventual group winners qualify for the 2018 World Cup which Russia hosts.
