He said he put his music on hold to focus on getting his media studies degree at the University of Botswana. “The course was something that I needed to push my music and right now I can do my own marketing and public relations,” he said.
E.P.I.C said he started rapping in 2007 when he was still a high school student. E.P.I.C, who is now under Banggae Records said he used to record at Rimzy Productions but now he feels he has found the right recording label to resuscitate his music after a long absence.
E.P.I.C said he realised that Batswana were not open to buying albums therefore he has resorted to releasing singles and EPs.
“I released Respect boi and Hei wena and the singles received a lot of popularity compared to the singles I released before,” he said.
He said his record label also doesn’t push him to do an album. “By the time I launch an album, I want it to be outside the country because I want to tour Africa,” he said.
E.P.I.C said he had improved a lot since his maiden appearance in the music industry. Initially, he rapped in English but has since opted for motswako and to top it all, where he hopes to make good music in less time.
He had been nominated for four YAMA awards said he felt honoured for many nominations. “I was nominated for the BOMU awards last year and I never thought I would receive this many nominations at once.”
He also he worked with ATI before and he would like to do it again. He said he collaborated with South Africa’s Molemi in the song called Flag High.
