Raging officer attacks woman over �stolen� boyfriend

A brother to the female victim, Onkemetse Seemise told Mmegi that his sister was attacked by the female police officer.

“She thought my sister was stealing her boyfriend,” he said.

“My sister said she was walking home when two men stopped her for a quick chat.  Just as she was talking to the men, the police officer arrived on the scene,” he said. 

Seemise said that the female officer hit his sister with a beer bottle and assaulted the two men.

“One of them is suspected to be her (officer’s) lover,” he said.

Seemise added that his 22-year-old sister was hospitalised and is still recovering from her injury.

“We reported the case to Sikwane Police Station and they are not taking the case seriously because it involves one of their own,” he said.

Seemise said the jealous officer’s alleged boyfriend refused to write a statement.  “She also beat up her boyfriend.  My sister and the other man are the only ones who gave the police a statement,” he said. Sikwane station commander, Elias Malope confirmed that they are investigating a ‘similar’ case whereby certain individuals reported that they were attacked by a police officer.

“We cannot dwell on the case, but I can assure you that investigations are ongoing and the matter will be dealt with as soon as investigations are complete,” he said.
